Round Britain Offshore Powerboat Race - June 2008
Oban Marina has been chosen as a hosting venue for the 2008 Round Britain Offshore
Powerboat
Race - a race which runs over ten days around the coast of Britain
and is the longest and toughest
event for powerboat drivers in the world.
The
first boats are due to arrive at 1400 on 24th June. Visitors will be able to
enjoy all the glitz
and
glamour that surround this race, which attracts competitors
from around the globe. The
spectacle includes the largest boat in the race, the
Austrian 48 footer Wettpunkt.com, taking part
in the Super Class RB1.
Watch
out for a few familiar faces from the world of TV as The Two Scoops Racing Team
which
comprises BBC 'Top Gear' presenter James May and Nick Knowles from 'DIY SOS'
as well as the
James Bond stunt girl, Sarah Donohue!
